Created by landscape astrophotographer and astronomy journalist Laurent Laveder, these are part of his project titled “Moon Games.”

National Geographic

National Geographic is once again holding their annual Photo Contest, with the deadline for submissions coming up on November 30th. For the past eight weeks, they have been gathering and presenting galleries of submissions, encouraging readers to rate them as well. National Geographic was again kind enough to let me choose some of their entries from 2010 for display here on The Big Picture. Collected below are 47 images from the three categories of People, Places and Nature. Captions were written by the individual photographers. (47 photos total)

What should be effective advertising? What need to be done with advertising to force people not only to drew attention but also remember for a long time afterwards? Creative advertising posters featured below are an excellent example of such advertising. Over a year ago they were developed by Rediffusion DY & R advertising agency for Animaster Animation School company. As always, creativity in advertising is a question of paramount importance. Perhaps the idea of drawings and hands that are drawing them, is not new, but thanks to quality execution and forethought of drawings this creative advertising is indisputable successfull.

Alix Malka was born in the south of France – as a young stage opera singer he was struck by the magic of the visual arts that soon grew into a pas­sion for pho­tog­ra­phy, fash­ion, and film. He grad­u­ated with a fine art degree in Aix en Provence and com­pleted Fash­ion Design at Esmod, Paris. He worked for many years as art direc­tor beside iconic designer Thierry Mugler cre­at­ing all aspects of a haute-​​couture house. He played an inte­gral part of the House of Mugler, col­lab­o­rat­ing with numer­ous pho­tog­ra­phers includ­ing mas­ters such as Hel­mut New­ton and Richard Ave­don. These inspi­ra­tional col­lab­o­ra­tions played a piv­otal part in ful­fill­ing Alixʼs dream of becom­ing a photographer.

 Emrah Altinok was born in 1980. He is an academic member of Yildiz Technical University.

As a fine-art photographer, he has staged numerous exhibitions and has taken place in a number of worldwide magazines.

As a free-lance photographer, he specialises in advertising, fashion and celebrity photography but also enjoys still life photography. He offers his clients worldwide studio and location shoots. He shoots film and digital in all formats.

In addition to photography, Altinok has 3 published poetry books and 3 poetry awards. He is the founder of a psychedelic rock band “etreh” which is planning to release an album soon.

Who worked in a circus that came through town.
His shoes were too big and his hat was too small,
But he just wasn't, just wasn't funny at all.

...He had a trombone to play loud silly tunes,
He had a green dog and a thousand balloons.
He was floppy and sloppy and skinny and tall,
But he just wasn't, just wasn't funny at all.

And every time he did a trick,
Everyone felt a little sick.
